DNA Extraction Kit Resource - available Monday, September 27th
Teachers are invited to register their Grades 9 to 12 classrooms to receive an engaging, hands-on learning kit that explores bioscience in a fun way and meets curricular outcomes. The DNA Extraction kit includes all of the materials needed for the experiment of extracting and separating DNA. Key terms and supplemental resources explore some of the tools that farmers and scientists use to efficiently produce safe, nutritious food. An optional in-class (as allowed) or virtual presentation is also available.
Bioscience in Saskatchewan: Video Challenge - launches Tuesday, September 28th at 10:30 am
Students are invited to participate in the Bioscience in Saskatchewan video challenge. Open to students in Grades 6 to 12, the contest highlights the ability of Saskatchewan students to effectively communicate science to a diverse audience. This one-minute TikTok style video challenge focuses on explaining a science topic in a clear, concise, and creative way. Each video will focus on a bioscience topic (agriculture, biotechnology, vaccines, animal, and human health, etc.).
Deadline for submissions: October 28th
Video Presentation: November 4th
