My Food Story resource is designed for young elementary students to encourage them to learn more about Saskatchewan agriculture and explore their personal relationship with food.
My Food Story consists of a lesson plan that will guide students in an exploration into foods grown in Saskatchewan and laminated, washable meal placemats for the students to share their personal food story. Teachers will receive a hard copy of the lesson plan. All orders placed before the end of October will also receive a class set of dry erase markers for the students to use with the placemat.
This kit is sure to engage your students in learning about crops grown in Saskatchewan!

Using an inquiry model for learning, this interactive resource will provide the means for students to inquire, explore, and investigate the question “How might Saskatchewan agriculture contribute to global food security for 9 billion people?”

Feeding a Growing World features multiple components to enhance the learning experience for students, including a four-part video, an interactive SMART Board or MIMIO game, and classroom activities. Once students have gained a solid understanding of the issues surrounding global food security, they will undertake an inquiry project that will focus on a particular area of Saskatchewan agriculture and the connection to food security.

How do people in agriculture create and sustain a healthy relationship with the land? This resource consists of two modules and contains all of the materials needed to conduct experiments.
The first module investigates crop production and technology through a seed germination experiment and comparative study. The second module allows students to undertake soil experiments and explore sustainable land management practices.
