Acres for Education Campaign

10 Cents Makes Sense

Acres for Education is a campaign for Saskatchewan farmers, ranchers, and producers to support agricultural initiatives in their local community. Funds raised through the campaign will bring students closer to agriculture through field trips to farms and agriculture events. The $100,000 campaign goal would enable 200 classrooms to grow their understanding of where food comes from by connecting with agriculture in their local community. You help can make this happen.

The 2nd Annual Acres for Education campaign launched on October 22, 2024, and will run until the end of the year.

Education For a Strong, Resilient Agriculture Future

The future of agriculture depends on today’s youth. As Grade 12 students graduate and make choices about careers, food, and policies, they will shape the industry. In 5 years, they could be drafting policy or advocating for sustainable practices; in 15 years, today's Grade 2 students will be doing the same. What do you want them to know about agriculture?

Education is key in igniting a passion and interest in agriculture and its impact on our daily lives. By engaging students in agriculture education initiatives, we are:

  • inspiring them to know and care more about our food system,

  • building understanding and support for modern farming practices, and

  • opening their eyes to careers in an exciting and rewarding industry.

In Your Community

Our free initiatives are available for Kindergarten to Grade 12 classrooms across Saskatchewan. In 2023, AITC-SK reached 658 schools in 261 communities. By supporting Acres for Education, you’re not only advancing agricultural programs in your local school but also providing urban students with valuable learning opportunities to connect with agriculture. Was AITC-SK in your community last year? Invest in the Future of Your Farm

You have the power to ensure the vitality and success of your farm in the future by investing in the education of youth today. Every donation provides an agricultural experience to a classroom of students, helping to build the pathway to agriculture literacy and a stronger future for us all.

This year, our goal is to get more students out of the classroom to learn about agriculture. Here's the difference your donation will make:

  • Donate 10 cents an acre to send as many classes as possible on field trips to farms or agri-businesses.

  • $250 sends a class to an agricultural event.

  • $500 sends a class to a farm or agri-business.

  • $1,000 sends a local AND urban class on a field trip to a farm or agri-business.

  • No acres? No problem. Every dollar makes a difference, and you can still support out-of-school experiences by donating however much makes sense to you.
