GRADES 9 TO 12  |  Year-round

Did you know that one in eight Canadian jobs are in the agriculture and agri-food sector? That’s over 50,000 jobs in Saskatchewan, from engineering, research and processing to sales, finance and everything in between! And as the world population continues to grow, the demand for skilled people to work in agriculture will grow as well.

The thinkAG Career Expo is hosted in communities around the province and allows students to explore the endless career and entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture, learn about modern food production and discover the diversity of agriculture-related post-secondary options.

During the half-day workshop, students in small groups will rotate through interactive stations, profiling various agricultural career paths such as agronomy, animal science, agricultural trades and technology, food development, agribusiness, and research and innovation. At each station students will learn firsthand from somebody working in that specific field, plus participate in a hands-on activity to truly ‘experience’ what that job entails. The workshops will also feature an introduction to agriculture and a spotlight on agriculture-related post-secondary programs.
