2026 Board of Directors Elections

AITC-SK is calling for nominations of candidates to join our Board of Directors.

2026 Election Timeline

If an election is necessary, it will be carried out electronically. Once the election results are finalized, they will be official.

  • Applications open – January 5, 2026
  • Applications close – February 6, 2026
  • Electronic ballot sent via e-mail: February 20, 2026
  • Voting period officially closes (Ballots must be received by 4:00 pm) - March 6, 2026
  • Candidates notified of results – March 13, 2026
  • Board Orientation – March 25, 2026
  • Announcement of new board – April 16, 2026 at Virtual AGM
 
Criteria

All nominees must either be an individual member in good standing or a representative of a member organization in good standing.
 
Note: At the 2026 AGM, the Board will bring forward a motion to amend the by-laws so organizations no longer appoint representatives. All directors will then serve as individuals and hold an individual membership. Nominations from our member organizations will still be incredibly important!
 

The annual membership fees are $50 per individual and $100 per organization.

  • Data & Information Security

AITC-SK is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and is seeking candidates who can bring diverse perspectives and lived experiences to the board.

About the Board
  • The AITC-SK Board can have a minimum of 6 directors and a maximum of 12 directors.
  • As per AITC-SK by-laws, the Board of Directors can propose a slate of up to four individuals to the membership for election to the Board of Directors. This will help address skill/experience gaps in the board. There are currently two available positions on the slate.
  • There are three board director positions available for the general election in 2026.
  • Board terms are two years, and a maximum of four consecutive terms may be held.
  • Directors are expected to serve their full two-year term, unless exceptional circumstances arise.
  • For individual directors who do not receive financial support from their employer or association, travel costs are covered and an honorarium for meetings is provided.
  • Board members are expected to participate in a minimum of one sub-committee and dedicate 2-4 hours per month to Board activities, in addition to the Board meetings.

Board meetings are held 5 times per year:

  • February – Virtual (half day)
  • April – Saskatoon or Regina (full-day)
  • June – Saskatoon or Regina (full-day)
  • October – Virtual (half day)
  • December – Saskatoon (full-day)
